New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress locked horns over the court’s decision in the National Herald case. BJP spokesperson MJ Akbar said that challenging the court’s decision was an absolute insult of the court in itself. Congress leader Renuka Chaudhury alleged that this case was being politicised by the ruling dispensation at the Centre. Congress leader Ashwani Kumar came to the defence of his party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, saying democracy was being disrupted. On 26 June, the trial court had issued summons to the Congress leaders on BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s complaint. Swamy has complained about cheating and breach of trusts in the acquisition of Associated Journals Limited – the publisher of National Herald – by a company called Young Indian Limited, in which the Gandhis reportedly hold shares.
