Tibetan PM hits out at China over its ties with Dalai Lama’s protesters

Dharamsala, Dec 27 (ANI): Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile, Lobsang Sangay hit out at China after media reported about growing ties between Beijing and a Buddhist religious sect, whose members have organised protests against the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, globally.
Sangay said Beijing was using Shugden community to divide the Tibetan society. The protesters are members of a sect that worships Dorje Shugden, a deity its devotees revere as a protector. The Dalai Lama discourages the practice, advising his followers that Dorje Shugden is a malevolent spirit. The Shugden worshippers accuse the Tibetan spiritual leader of persecuting them for their beliefs. The Dalai Lama has set up Tibetan government-in-exile in Dharamsala.
