Sunny of Patna to present paper in Global Meet at Spain

PATNA: Patna boy, Sunny Mahajan, has achieved a commendable feat in the medical world by making valuable contributions to human brain mapping. He will be presenting his research finding at the 16th annual meeting of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) to be held at Barcelona, Spain from June 6 to 10.

OHBM, one of the most significant neuroimaging conferences, is attended by approximately 2,500 medical scientists from all over the world. Sunny, who is the son of prominent income tax lawyer D B Gupta, is presently a student of IIT, Mumbai. He has shown spectacular performances at the IIT all through. He held the first rank at all the examinations held there and scored a perfect 700 out of 700 in his seventh semester examination, which is a record for the institution. He has now gone far beyond that distinction.

Sunny’s paper is the outcome of the research carried out in Belgium under Professor Rodolphe Sepulchre for over three months. The professor himself is all praises for the work done by Sunny in such a brief period, and has gone on to suggest that this should be followed up for a PhD.

Sunny’s work deals with brain mapping of patients in a state of coma. In technical language, this work will help neuroscientists in the understanding of consciousness based on MRI data.
