Bihar to organise over 10000 health camps

Patna, Jan 14 (PTI) The health department of the Bihar government would organize 10,000 camps in 38 districts under”Gram Swasthya Chetna Yatra” (GSCY), to be launched on January27, Principal Secretary (Health) Amarjit Kumar Sinha saidtoday.

At least 10 to 20 camps would be held per day duringthe 32-day-long programme in which patients would get medicaltreatment at their doorsteps, Sinha told reporters.

Besides, the health teams would apprise the villagersof various preventive measures to keep ailments at bay, hesaid.

The villagers would also be informed aboutimplementation of various measures in terms of rural healthfacilities, including the cash component of the social healthcare schemes, Sinha said.

The health department will seek cooperation from otherdepartments like Social welfare, HRD, PHED, Panchayati Raj andUrban Development to make the GSCY programme a success.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will launch the GSCYat Patna on January 27.
