AIEEE paper leak case finds root in Bihar

LUCKNOW: The Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh police may have detected the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) question paper leak in time, but three days after the probe, the investigators are clueless about the exact point of leakage, an element which is sure to play a decisive role in holding criminal charges against the accused.

By Tuesday evening, all that the investigators could offer was the identity and family background of prime accused Deen Dayal alias Deenu alias Sanjay Singh, a native of Jaunpur, who is settled in Vaishali locality of Ghazidabad and operates from New Delhi. Investigators have also traced the gang’s links to Sasaram in Bihar and Ahmedabad in Gujarat apart from half-a-dozen districts in Uttar Pradesh, particularly Lucknow and Kanpur.

“Neighbours of Deen Dayal in Ghaziabad know him as a property dealer operating in the National Capital Region (NCR) in UP and Delhi. None were aware of his criminal acts, it seems,” said director general of police-special (DGP-S) Brij Lal. He also confirmed that police have arrested Phool Chand, the brother of Deen Dayal, who works with a nationalised bank and presently posted with its Mandiahu branch in Jaunpur.
