Mumbai, Jun 22 (PTI) From playing a rebellious goon in ”Dabangg” to a loyal cop in ”Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap”, Indian actor Sonu Sood has come a long way and now he desires to essay the role of a superhero.
“I would like to do a superhero role. As lot of superhero films are being made now. I want to play a superhero like Spiderman,” Sonu said.
“I think superhero films work big time with kids…you have lots to do in terms of stunts. But the script has to be good. It has to be very convincing,” he said.
Sonu made his Bollywood debut with ”Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh” in 2002 but got his share of sunshine in Bollywood (Indian film industry) with ”Dabangg”.
The 38-year-old actor will now be seen alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Poori Jagannath”s up-coming flick ”Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap”. The film is a romantic comedy about an angry old man, played by Big B, who gets into trouble because he loses his cool easily.
On his role, Sonu said, “I play Karan Malhotra, he is loyal cop, who is committed to eliminating crime. It is not like the cop thing works so I did it,its just that the script had this thing in it, which I felt was good.”
About his experience of working with Big B, he said, “He is a great guy and we had lot of fun together. The liveliness that he has is something that keeps him energetic. He has this excitement and fervor that keeps us on our toes that we have to do good work.”
Produced by AB Corp, the film also stars Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Minnisha Lamba and Sonal Chauhan. The film releases on July 1.
