Dhanbad- India has finally moved into the League of North America and Europe where Double Decker Trains are a reality when the Minister Dinesh Trivedi flag offed the country’s first air-conditioned superfast double decker train at Howrah. The train will run between Dhanbad and Howrah for 5 days in a week.
The train 12383 UP/12384 DN Howrah-Dhanbad Express is fully air-conditioned train with 9 chair car coaches. It will start from Dhanbad at 5.00 a.m. on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and arrive at Howrah at 9.15 a.m. From Howrah, this train will start at 3.20 p.m. on every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and reach Dhanbad at 7.40 p.m.
An official press release said the train would consist of nine coaches including seven air-conditioned double decker chair cars having 128 seats in each coach and two generator cars. It will stop at Barddhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, Barakar and Kumardhubi in both directions.
