Bihar Foundation to survey Non – Resident Biharis

Non Resident BiharisNon Resident Biharis, the desi version of Non Resident Indians (NRI) who hail from Bihar have gained a tall status in the context of the state these days. Be it Investment related matter, policy framing or Employment generation, they have a significant say in the matter.
In a recent development Bihar Government has decided to undertake a survey about their socio-economic conditions, their education and other details. This is exoected to begin in March 2012.
The Survey would be conducted jointly by Bihar Foundation and A. N. Sinha Institute.

It is worthwhile to note that Bihar Foundation is organizing a Global meet for Non-Resident Biharis during February 17-19, 2012. This meet christened as Changing Bihar—Forgetting Partnership for Development would act as a common platform for all NRBs to coordinate and contribute to the task of development of bihar.

About Bihar Foundation
Bihar Foundation was set up by the Bihar Government in July 2007. The purpose was to provide a forum for and to facilitate communication and interaction between Non-Resident Biharis (NRB’s) and the state of Bihar. It also provides inputs and suggestions to the Government regarding policies and schemes designed for the development of the state and creates funds and endowments as necessary for their implementation.
