Ex- Patna SSP and currently SP of Araria, Shivdeep Lande  has shown his efficient working ability by arresting 3 quacks performing illegal Tubectomy in Araria District. The Quacks (Fake Doctors )have been said to have performed the surgery of 61 women in 2 hours only. The tubectomy operations were carried out in a field and without the use of anaesthesia
The three quacks have been identified as Gopal Jha, Prakash Jha and Ramanand Jha  performing under the banner of an NGO Jai Ambe Welfare Society. The NGO had promised women a sum of Rs 600 and other benefits if they came for surgery.
“When I reached the spot I was surprised to find that not a single qualified doctor was present there and even the saline bottles used for the surgery were well past their expiry dates,” Â Lande said.
The quacks got down to business by performing the surgeries at breakneck speed without the benefit of anesthesia, making the women cry out in agony.  When the condition of several women deteriorated, the villagers rushed to the district police. The affected women have been rushed to the District Hospital.
