Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) on Tuesday conducted the  roadshow in Kolkata  as part of Discover Bihar Campaign to attract domestic tourists to Bihar.  As part of this campaign the rich cultural Heritage of Bihar and the emerging tourists destinations are being showcased.
BSTDC is conducting these roadshows in 10 Indian cities – Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Surat, Jaipur and Guwahati.
The centre of discussion was the growth of Bihar tourism, that has been a key constituent of the state’s development. The government is also working on setting up Nalanda International University that will attract students from different parts of the country as well as abroad. Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Vaishali and Patna were a few of the places highlighted as focus areas to attract tourists from West Bengal.
Later in the evening, a cultural programme was organized in which Bihar’s folk dance and music were presented. Bihar’s cuisine was also one of the major attractions.
