Joining the Lines of Twitter and Google Plus, Facebook has started offering verified accounts to Celebrities – A move which was in demand isnce  long time due to  numerous fake celebrity profiles floating around.
The feature will start as invite-only, allowing public figures (in the beginning, only users with high subscriber counts will be invited) to change their account to verified status.
A verified account would appear more frequently in the People to subscribe suggestion. However, unlike Google Plus and Twitter, it wont display any verified badge next to the profile. A verified user will also have the option to change his real name to a nick name.
To get account verified all you need is to send Facebook a copy of Government Issues ID Card, or a combination of any two different ID Cards.
