India launches IRA Tabs for competing with Aakash Tabs

With uncertainties over the fate of Aakash Tab, another Indian Company Wishtel, has come up with new cheap Android based Tablets pricing from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 6000. Wishtel has launched 3 models of Ira (Ira, Ira Thing and Ira Icon) starting from Rs 4000. The tablets were launched today by the Wishtel CEO Milind Shah.

Ira, the seven-inch Andoid tablet supports more than Indian languages besides HD video, Wi-Fi and 3G. The tablets have an in-built memory beginning from 2 GB that can be expanded to 32 GB.

Wishtel, the Mumbai based company will sell Ira through various retail outlets and Online Stores. IRA has been designed as per specifications from IIT Rajasthan as a part of their low cost computing devices project, under the National Mission on Education through ICT and sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource
