WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will contest Elections this time for Australian Senate. Immensely popular in Australia and outside, he has decided for seat in the Australian Senate in elections next year. Presently he is detained in Britain.
“We have discovered that it is possible for Julian Assange to run for the Australian Senate while detained. Julian has decided to run,” the group announced on its Twitter account.
The 40-year-old Australian is currently being held under house arrest in Britain facing a possible extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted over sex crime allegations.
Assange has denied the accusations against him and described the case as politically motivated.
