Mall Owners pay Rs 8 Lakh to deceased Stuntman’s Family

Noida: AMR Infrastructure, owner of the Great Adventure Mall from where a stuntman fell to death has paid Rs 8 lakh relief cheque to the deceased’s dependants. Tourism Worx, the organisation entrusted with adventure activities, will also contribute financially to support the family.

On Saturday, Stuntman Shailendra Singh Bisht was coming down the glass-walled mall when he lost his grip on the rope after crossing more than half way to the bottom and fell to his death from a height of 40 feet at the Great Adventure Mall in Greater Noida.Bisht sustained multiple injuries in the incident and died on the spot

Meanwhile, district authorities have started inquiry into the incident.Superintendent of Police, Greater Noida, Ashok Kumar said a complaint was registered under Indian Penal Code sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 304A (causing death by negligence) against unidentified people.

A native of Chinkot village in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district, Bisht was part of an adventure group that was performing at the mall.

“AMR Infrastructures expresses profound grief for the ill-fated and untoward incident, as a responsible organisation we have taken a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and are supporting the family of the deceased with Rs 8 lakhs,” the company said in a press statement.

The company also released statement of Virendra Kumar Bisht, brother of the deceased stuntman Shailendra Singh Bisht in which he stated that his brother was trained man and had 10 years experience in mountaineering.

The incident which proved fatal for him was accidental mishap associated with such adventures, he said. Bisht met with gruesome death on Saturday when the rope supporting him snapped near the seventh floor of the Great Adventure Mall, Noida.
