NEW DELHI: Â CBSE has announced the results for Class 10 Examination (AISSE 2012) this year. Earlier it was announced for Chennai region only. As expected,Girls have outshone boys in the examination, which recorded a pass percentage of 98.19.
Class X results are available at the following websites: www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in, and www.cbse.nic.in
The overall pass figure is about two per cent higher than last last year’s results.The pass percentage of girls stood at 98.48 per cent as compared to 97.98 per cent in case of boys.
According to a CBSE statement, the pass percentage in Chennai region at 99.45 was the highest in the country. The results in that region was declared on May 21.
Since last year, CBSE class X examination is being conducted under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)scheme and the results are reflected in grades.
To overcome the result stress, the CBSE will begin with its second phase of counselling from May 24 which will continue till June 7.
Counselling will be available for both parents and students through calls, interactive voice response system (IVRS) and CBSE’s website.

In total, 11,79,182 candidates were registered for class X examination this year, an increase of about 11 per cent over last year. The class XII results are also expected to be declared this week.
The CBSE Proficiency Test 2012 will be conducted between July 9 and July 13 for class X. This test is optional and students appearing in class X exam this year are eligible to take the test.
