Chattisgarh urges to rescue abducted Indian Engineer by Somali Pirates

Chhattisgarh CM  Raman Singh has  urged  External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna for help in rescuing Indian Engineer held as Hostage by Somalia pirates since early March.

Engineer Preetam Kumar Sahu was allegedly held hostage, along with 17 Indians, by pirates off the coast of Oman when they were on way to Nigeria from Dubai in vessel MT Royal Grace.

In his letter to Krishna, Raman Singh termed the issue as “a very serious case from the angle of humanity” and appealed to him to make “personal interference” for early and safe return of Sahu and others.

The chief minister wrote to Krishna after Sahu’s parents, based in Rajnandgaon district, called on him and sought help for his release earlier this week and submitted a letter.

They claimed that their son, along with others, was struggling to survive due to shortage of food on the hijacked vessel.
