PATNA: Former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is on a 2 day visit to Patna today. He has  been backed by Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party for Presidential race, arrived in Patna on Thursday on a scheduled visit and was welcomed by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar at the airport.
Kumar’s receiving Kalam at the airport assumes significance in the backdrop of TMC and SP rooting for his candidature for the post of President.
“Many political leaders have contacted and want me to become President of India. I appreciate this idea, I respect their views.I will take proper decision at the right time,” he told reporters here.
Kalam would inaugurate a high-tech IT Centre at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology here, visit vernacular daily ‘Prabhat Khabar’s office at Boring Road in Patna and attend another function at the SK Memorial Hall before leaving for Delhi this evening.
