CBI Joint Director Rishi Raj Singh Transferred

CBI Joint Director (Mumbai Zone I) Rishi Raj Singh who was  probing the Adarsh housing scam has  been transferred. He will now hold charge of Mumbai Zone II  with agency describing it as a “routine move”.

This is seen as the outcome of naming former Maharashtra CM in Adarsh Scam Charge-sheet.

“This is a reshuffling mandate that we follow after a period of four years. The transfer orders were issued today (Thursday). His transfer was ordered after the CBI filed the charge sheet in the Adarsh housing scam Wednesday,” a CBI officer told IANS.

Keshav Kumar, who is presently based in New Delhi, will be taking over from Singh in the next 20 days. Kumar held additional charge of Zone II after the joint director P. Kandaswamy went on leave of absence on medical grounds.

Singh headed a team that investigated role of serving and retired state government officials in the Adarsh housing scam.

The CBI had Wednesday charge sheeted 13 accused, including former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan, several retired army officials and bureaucrats in the case.
