Hopes of Actress Laila Khan’s being alive is getting dim with new series of revelations made by Mumbai Crime Branch Investigating Team.
The Mumbai Crime Branch, which recovered six skeletons from the Bollywood starlet’s farmhouse in Igatpuri, near Nashik, fears that they are the human remains of Laila and her family members.
After yesterday’s recovery of six skeletons from Laila Khan’s farm house at Igatpuri in Nashik, the investigating team has stumbled upon some more evidential items which is being seen as a big find in the curious murder mystery of the starlet. From Laila’s farmhouse, police have recovered a knife, a rod and two mobile phones along with some jewelry.
A team of Crime Branch officers had taken Parvez Tak, a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist and stepfather of the actress, to the spot where they reconstructed the crime scene following which they found the human remains of three people, an officer said.
A Mumbai metropolitan court had, on Monday, remanded Tak to police custody till July 19.
Whether the recovered human remains were that of Laila Khan and her family members will be verified after forensic examination, police said.
During interrogation, Tak reveled that Laila Khan, missing since February 2011, had been killed along with four other members of her family and their bodies had been disposed of somewhere near Mumbai.
A case of abduction was registered at Mumbai’s Oshiwara police station by her father Nadir Patel. According to the complaint, Tak and his accomplice Asif Sheikh had allegedly abducted Laila Khan and her family members.
