A total of 1,124 couples have planted 1,124 trees in Madhya Pradesh as part of a green campaign by Gayatri Pariwar.
According to Gayatri Pariwar, 23 hills have already been made green in Burhanpur and Khandwa districts in the state. The 1,124 trees were planted in the same region, it said.
According to Sudhir Bharadwaj of Gayatri Pariwar, similar tree plantation had been done in Sanavad, Shjapur, Badwani, Khargone districts of Madhya Pradesh too besides Gujarat, Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
“We will also be planting trees on the banks of 24 major rivers of India in a bid to save these rivers,” he said.
