Ek Tha Tiger received a massive opening on the first day at Box Office with a collection of more than Rs 33 Crores. This is way ahead than ‘Agneepath’ which had the privilege of being the biggest opener of Bollywood till date, this Hrithik Roshan starrer had gathered Rs 22 crore on its first day.
The earnings fell in the single screens across India on its second day and collected around 15 crore (US$2.72 million)
However it will not be released in Pakistan. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, “Breaking News: No release for #EkThaTiger in Pakistan.” He further says that this latest development can result into a loss for the makers, “#EkThaTiger no release in Pakistan on Eid means loss of minimum 10 to 12 crores.”
Earlier there were reports of the film being banned in Pakistan on the grounds of its theme being anti-Pakistan, but recently an NOC was granted for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ to be screened for the censor board members there. Unfortunately, it appears that ETT failed to convince Pakistani board members of the benevolent treatment of their country in the film.
