Microsoft to provide training to Ex-Soldiers for Employablity

Microsoft India is planning to extend to other states its flagship programme now on in Delhi to enhance the employability of retired army personnel.

Disclosing this here, company chairman Bhaskar Pramanik said there were also plans to bring the paramilitary forces under the programme.

Christened “Kshamata” (capacity), the scheme aims at augmenting the capacity and competence of former army personnel.

“Now the project is restricted to Delhi. But we are looking to extend it to other states and rope in the paramilitary forces as well,” Pramanik said.

Company sources said so far 19,000 former soldiers have been trained and the target was to bring 100,000 within its ambit by 2015.

Supported by certification from reputed institutions, the training module has been devised by the company.
