Renu Yadav, another Bandit Queen from Chambal is all set to join the mainstream Politics of India. Taking the heritage forward of famous Chambal Valley bandits like Phoolan Devi and Seema Parihar, Renu is also planning to join Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh after spending 7 years in jail.
According to Renu she was abducted at tender age by the infamous Chandan Yadav of Chambal, on November 23, 2009 on the way to her school. Her Father lodged a Police Complaint, but Police remained inactive. Because her Father could not pay the ransom, so she was not released.
She claims of not having committed any crime, but because she was living under Chandan Yadav, over 2 dozen criminal cases have been imposed against her.
In 2005, Chandan Yadav was killed by his close aide Ramvir Gujjr. Later she fled after killing Ramvir Gujjr and surrendered before Police. However, Police again played a cross and pretended to have found and arrested her from Civil Lines Itawa and recovered an SLR Rifle.
Last month she was released after serving 7 years of term and now wishes to serve the helpless women and girls who are easily victimized by gangpins like Chandan Yadav.
She already had talks with UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and SP leader Shivpal Yadav and has supposedly been given positive assurance.
According to sources, she might be formally inducted in the party next month and is likely to be the SP Candidate in the 2014 Elections from some constituency near Itawa. Some SP Leaders have also confirmed this development.
