Uttar Pradesh government  has given a  go-ahead to the second phase of Delhi Metro in Ghaziabad which will link Delhi’s Dilshad Garden to the new bus stand along GT Road.
The 9.41-km corridor will provide an alternative to the current Anand Vihar-Vaishali line.
The alignment will have seven stations: Shahid Nagar, Raj Bagh, Rajendra Nagar, Shyam Park, Mohan Nagar, Arthala and the new bus stand in Ghaziabad.
The average distance between each of these seven stations is 1.35 km. The new line is likely to benefit more than 12 lakh people.
The cabinet also approved the Uttar Pradesh IT policy which aims at promoting the industry in a big way.
The cabinet approved the transfer of 150 acres of land in Chank Gajaria area here for an IT city, approved earlier.
The Samajwadi Party government also approved enhancing the farmer insurance to Rs.5 lakh and said it would be implemented with effect from April 1.
