Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Tuesday celebrated Durga Puja in style with ‘launda nach’ (folk dance by men in female attire), drum beats and Bhojpuri folk songs.
“Laluji arranged a ‘launda nach’ Tuesday at 10, Circular Road, the official residence of his wife Rabri Devi, to celebrate the ongoing Durga Puja festival in his own style, unlike other politicians,” RJD worker Mahesh Singh said.
“Dozens of select party leaders and workers joined Laluji in enjoying a traditional ‘launda nach’, which is on the verge of extinction due to the changing times,” Singh added.
Another RJD leader Ramanuj Prasad said Lalu Prasad used to enjoy the dance on the occasion of Durga Puja when he was in power in Bihar.
Lalu, along with his younger son Tejasvi Yadav visited his native village Phulwaria in Gopalganj district Monday and offered prayers at the village temple and met his relatives and villagers.
