Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to begin his Pakistan Yatra on Friday

Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar willbegin his Pakistan Yatra on Friday. He is likely to visit the tomb of Mohammad Ali Jinnah and meet leaders of the MQM party during his week-long visit to Pakistan.

Kumar will visit Mazar-e-Quaid to pay floral tribute to the founder of Pakistan on November 10 and visit Jinnah’s museum, Ravi Kant Principal Secretary, Cabinet told reporters here on Wednesday.

Kumar will also meet leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement which has support among migrant Muslims from Bihar.

Kant said Kumar’s meeting with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf was yet not confirmed.

Kumar is leading a 12-member delegation from November 9-16 at the invitation of the chief ministers of Punjab and Sind.

The chief minister is scheduled to visit Dera Saheb Gurudwara and the mausoleum of the Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh adjacent to it.

He will also visit some historical sites including Mohenjodaro and Takshila sites of the Indus Valley civilisation.

After meeting Punjab Governor Latif Khan Khosa on November 16, the delegation will return to India by road through the Wagah border.

RJD president Lalu Prasad had visited Pakistan in 2003.
