Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh): President Pranab Mukherjee here called upon youth of Chhattisgarh to take inspiration from teachings of Swami Vivekananda and employ every possible means to ensure development in the state.
He also emphasised on the need to bring people from the Maoist bastion of Abujhmad into the mainstream while preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
He said the government was striving to provide employment to people aged below 25.
Mukherjee was addressing inmates and students of Ramkrishna Mission Ashram here.
Without referring to the Maoist insurgency which affects thousands of tribal youth, the president said a committee chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was looking into ways to develop skills and providing jobs to country’s huge human resource base.
Mukherjee arrived at the Maoist hotbed of Narayanpur in the restive Bastar region by a helicopter, landed at a temporary airstrip and headed to the ashram.
