Delhi Police is content with the action taken so far in the brutal Gang Rape of a 23 Year Old Paramedical Student on December 16 Night in a moving Bus. All six accused  have been arrested and Police has taken several crackdown measures to prevent such incidents in future.
“We have arrested all the six accused involved in the Sunday’s rape incident. It was a painstaking and meticulous operation… our team has done a good work,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chhaya Sharma said.
Police also said that the victim, who is admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital, gave her statement to a sub-divisional magistrate.
“She was very eager to give the statement and was happy to hear that all the accused were caught,” Sharma said.
The  Administration has also  undertaken several measures to beef up the Security in the city.
A crackdown has been launched against 400 buses having tinted windows and over 250 for picking up passengers in an unauthorized manner.  The chartered bus in which Gang Rape took place was not authorized to pick up passengers.
“Traffic police has stepped up action against chartered buses picking up passengers, drunken driving, drivers not having Public Service Vehicle (PSV) badge and having tinted glasses,” said a message posted by Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police, on the department’s Facebook page. The page has over 1.5 lakh followers.
Garg said that in the last three days, a total of 3,706 vehicles were prosecuted including 413 buses for having tinted windows.
Similarly, drivers of 352 vehicles, including commercial vehicles, were fined for drunken driving, and 266 chartered buses were prosecuted for picking up passengers in an unauthorized manner in the same period.

“Three constables – Kailash, Ashok and Sandeep, posted at Hauz Khas police station – have been suspended for not taking action on Deccember 16 night when Ramadhir, who was earlier robbed by the accused, approached them,” said a senior police officer.
The policemen on duty reportedly told Ramadhir to come next day to register his complaint. Ramadhir was robbed by the six men in the same luxury bus in which they raped the woman and beat up her male friend in Vasant Vihar area of south Delhi Sunday night.
Police also suspended Sub-Inspector Rajeshwar, head constable Inder Pal, constables Jagmal, Pardeep and Chottelal posted at Conaught Place police station as they were found absent during their duty hours when Home Secretary R.K. Singh made a surprise visit Friday evening to check citizen safety. The suspension orders were issued on Saturday evening.
In an another incident of showing benevolence to the Rape Victim, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that such things can happen to his daughter also.
“I and my associate (Minister of State for Home R.P.N. Singh) have three daughters each…we are concerned about their security. Such incident can happen to them too,” Shinde told reporters.
