Gujarat CM Narendra Modi did what no other Government in India dared to do. He Sent back the delegation of Pakistan Industrialists, who came to attend Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013 in wake of the bitterness in the relationship between India -Pakistan and the recent beheading of Indian Soldiers.
The 22 membered delegation of Karachi Chamber of Commerce was asked to go back politely. They were not allowed to visit tourist spots  even in Ahmedabad. Few members of the Delegation wanted to visit Surat, hence the delegation was sent to Surat from where they were moved to Mumbai to fly back to Pakistan.
The Government has however a different version of the story. According to Gujarat’s principal secretary (home) SK Nanda, the Pakistani delegates could not attend the summit in Gandhinagar, as they had visa only for Ahmedabad.
Gujarat  Principal Secretary (Industries) Maheshwar Sahoo said that Pakistani delegation had attended the  Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013 as per their programme.
“I strongly refute reports saying that Pakistani delegates could not participate in Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2013. The delegation took part in a buyer-seller meet, as part of VGS, in Ahmedabad during January 9 and 10,” Sahoo said in a statement issued tonight.
Though the Pakistani delegation had attended the pre-event meet, they did not participate in the main events held in Gandhinagar during January 11 and 12, he said.
“After the buyer-seller meet, they had left for Surat as part of their planned itinerary,” he said.
Karachi Chamber of Commerce had warm relations with Gujarat Government  and last year its delegates  had attended a business event at Ahmedabad. It also  had invited Narendra Modi to deliver a lecture to the business community leaders of Pakistan via video conference.
Modi too was friendly with KCC,  and on his part he had advocated  simple visa norms for the Pakistani tourists coming to Ajmer Shariff and other parts of India. But, the beheading of Indian Soldiers has left Narendra Modi disturbed.
