A 2nd Year College Student in West Bengal has been booked for liking and sharing a cartoon on Facebook, concerning  West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee.  The actually  cartoon criticized Mamata’s industry growth agenda and the arrest of a poor farmer branded a Maoist  ordered by the CM.
“A police complaint has been filed by the TMCP against Ramnayan Chowdhury for circulating cartoons against the chief minister. We are investigating the case,” Bidhannagar (north) OC Santanu Kar said.
However, the general diary entry is yet to make it to the FIR register of Bidhannagar North police station.
Ramnayan Chowdhury, is a 2nd year student of Bidhannagar College. He liked and shared a cartoon on Facebook, which took a dig  upon Mamata Banerjee and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. What he did not remember was that  among his 109 friends, there was Trinamool Leader Suvakshan Dutta, who took the matter to Police.
“I was informed yesterday that a complaint has been lodged against me at Bidhannagar police station. However, police haven’t called me so far,”  said.
However, Trinamool has temporarily dissociated itself from the controversy. Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, State president Sankudeb Panda said that the party doesnot support the step taken by Suvakshan Dutta .
“We have told Suvakshan that Internet skirmishes have to be fought on the Net. The TMCP doesn’t endorse this act and we will not support any such move. We wish to reiterate this to every supporter of ours,” he said.
