Special Task Forces (STF) would soon have Four operation Centers in Bihar. Apart from Patna, three new Centers are being established at Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Munger. Each Operation Center would have 100 Jawans and 10 Officers.
The construction cost of each center has been estimated to be Rs. 6 Crores. Central Government has already allocated Rs 24 Crores for the entire project. The Construction is being overseen by Bihar State Pul Nirman Nigam Ltd.
These centers are being setup to combat the Maoist Insurgency in the State in a more effective way. Earlier Forces had to be deputed from its Patna Operation Center which resulted in the Delay during Emergency operations.
Presently, STF is stationed at a Temporary base near Golghar, Patna . A permanent Base Center is also expected to come up near that location.
In Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Munger, the STF Operation Centers would be based at the camps of Bihar Military Police (BMP) of the respective zones.
