Anna Hazare requests Kejriwal to dissolve his Week Long Fast

New Delhi: Veteran Social Activist Anna Hazare today met his former Deputy Arvind Kejriwal and requested him to dissolve his Week Long Fast on the grounds of poor health. Arvind Kejriwal has been fasting since last March 22 and has lost a significant weight so far.

Kejriwal has been fasting over the issue of Inflated Electricity Bills in New Delhi and has chosen a venue of Slum rather some famous spot for his indefinite fast.

Talking to reporters Anna said that he advised Kejriwal to call off his fast on the grounds of his poor health. He said that this is not a small term battle and no one would gain by killing himself.

He further advised Kejriwal that about 2 more days of fasting is okay, but he should not extend it further.  The fast is a means to spread awareness and it should be repeated from time to time once you gain health.

He said Kejriwal is not asking for money or administrative position but just asking the government to take note of the trouble that the poor are going through. “If a poor man gets a electricity bill of Rs 3,000-4,000, from where is he going to pay,” he said.

Kejriwal publicly thanked Anna for paying a visit. This visit has put a full stop over the growing speculations about the differences between Anna and Kejriwal.

Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal have been fighting over corruption at different fronts. Anna Hazare would address three rallies at Punjab tomorrow as part of his  ‘Janatantra Yatra’ in Punjab.

In total, he would address 8 rallies during this week. Hazare would start first phase of his yatra from Amritsar after paying obeisance at Durgiana Mandir, Harmandir Saheb and Ramtirath temple. He will address public rally at the Jallianwalan Bagh tomorrow 31 followed by two more public rallies at Kapurthala and Jalandhar on the same day.
