Government plans to construct Outer Ring Road surrounding Patna

Bihar Government has decided to construct Outer Ring Road surrounding Patna. In order to ease commutation to and fro Patna, the Outer Ring road will connect Saran and Vaishali districts directly.

It would be a Four Lane road and shall connect various nodes like Dorigang, Digha, Sultanpur, Hajipur, Wajidpur,Jandaha, Kachhi Dargahpur, Dumri, Bihta and Koilvar. The Detailed project report is being finalized and soon consultants would be employed to finalize the Design of the Road. The Construction is scheduled to start by 2014-15.

The Outer Ring Road aims to facilitate hassle-free entry to the city of Patna through various junctions. The Ring road shall pass via Maner, Dighwara, Sonepur, Hajipur, Bidupur,Bakhtiyarpur, Fateha and Maner.

This was announced Minister of Road Construction Department, Nand Kishor Yadav in Bihar Assembly.

In another announcement, the Flyover at Mithapur would be extended till Exhibition Road, Patna. The Government is also planning a further extension till Secretariat.
