Mumbai bound Bus Falls in River killing over 40 Passengers

Mumbai: A Tourist Bus, on its way to Mumbai from Goa fell down in a river in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district killing over 40 passengers.

As per preliminary information, the driver lost its control near a bridge and the Bus plunged into Jagbudi river, which was dry at the time of accident.

Several foreigners had reportedly boarded  the Bus and only one Russian Traveler has been rescued so far.

The injured have been shifted to several medical facilities nearby and the victims with severe injuries are being treated at the Khed Hospital.

According to Police, the bus was plying  at a very high speed and the driver tried to overtake a Truck while on a narrow bridge on Jagbudi river. However, he lost control, causing the bus to spin out of control, break the barricades and plunge into the sands of the dried river.
