A Scheme implemented by Bihar Government christened as Chattissa, has been  immensely successful in several villages of Bihar, where it was implemented as a Pilot Project.
The Govt. shortlisted 12 Panchayats  for the trial project and the patients in those villages  were provided treatment for critical diseases through video conferencing by the leading doctors of AIIMS  Patna.
Two Panchayats were chosen from each of the following districts, Patna, Nalanda, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Samastipur and Darbhanga. This was revealed by Health Minister of Bihar Ashwani Choubey.
There are 8,500 Panchayats in Bihar. As a part of the Central government scheme, run in coordination with the state government, “Chattissa” aims to provide Telemedicine Solutions in the Rural areas of Bihar.
The name Chattissa refers to the Trained Youths who are on other end of Video Conferencing and provide medication as per the advise of Senior Doctors.
Chattissa  have the power to refer serious patients suffering from diseases related to heart, kidney and cancer to AIIMS Patna.
