Sayyed Liyaqat Shah is the man of the newshour. A Militant Accused, he has beena arrested by the Delhi Police at the Jama Masjid Guest House in New Delhi. A heavy stock of arms and ammunition have also been arrested during a parallel raid at the same location which leads Delhi Police to conclude that Shah was planning to execute a major terrorist attack.
What is publicly acceptable news is that he is a former militant who has come to India via Nepal and is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir.Rest every story has different versions with different sources.
His wife, Ameena Begum told a news agency that her husband was returning home under the Jammu and Kashmir government’s rehabilitation policy via Nepal and there was no question of him carrying any weapons.
According to Delhi Police sources, Shah had been instructed by his handlers to target crowded areas of Delhi around Holi, including a popular mall in South Delhi and Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi.
It all started when Delhi Police raided few locations near Jama Masjid. They recovered heavy amount of arms and ammunition. But it failed to arrest Six occupants of the room from where it was seized. It says that it is hunting for the Six occupants who are Suspected to be Terrorists.
