Bihar has got record power supply yesterday with the peak supply reaching 1920 MW for the first time in recent years. Though this is not enough to cater to the demand of whole population, yet this is a positive indication.
The increase in supply has been possible due to increase in Quota from Central Sector. Earlier Bihar used to get a peak supply of 1750 MW which increased by 170 MW on Saturday.
Bihar has been facing heavy power crisis these days with peak demand reaching about 3000 MW while the supply has gone down to 1600 MW due to problems in the plants at Farakka and Kahalgaon.
