Pakistani Prisoner Rana Sanaullah Haq Attacked in Indian Jail

Rana Sanaullah Haq, a Pakistani Prisoner lodged in the Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu has been attacked by a fellow prisoner Vinod Kumar by axe and is reported to be critical condition. Rana Sanaullah Haq was admitted to local Hospital but is now being airlifted to the super-speciality hospital of PGI Chandigarh. He is 65 years old and has been lodged in the jail on account of Terrorism charges.

Vinod Kumar, the attacking prisoner was formerly part of Indian Army. He is from Uttarakhand. Kumar was arrested in Leh and recently transferred to Jammu. He is serving a life sentence. The attack on Rana Sanaullah Haq is deemed to be in retaliation of the Death of Indian Prisoner in Pakistan Sarabjeet Singh.

As per reports the duo spat on war of words in which Sarabjeet’s name was mentioned several times.

Rana Sanaullah Haq has suffered serious injury to the right temporal lobe area and is undergoing a CT scan. Sources say that he is in Coma and is unlikely to survive.

An Internal Probe has been ordered by India and the security of all Pakistani Prisoners has been tightened.

Several officers including the Superintendent of the Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal have been suspended on account of negligence and have been asked to explain the reason why Pakistani and Indian prisoners were allowed to mingle while wielding pick-axes.
