Satyam Kumar, a 13 year boy from Bihar has set the national record by securing 679 rank in JEE Advanced 2013, the entrance examination for Indian Institutes of Technology. He now holds the record of Youngest Indian to crack IIT Entrance Examination. Previously it was held by a 14 year old Boy from UP, who cracked it in 2004 with 1100 Rank.
Satyam came to limelight when he cracked IIT JEE 2012Â with All India Rank of 8137. However, he preferred to go for another attempt in IITs due to poor rank. For past one year he prepared for IIT Entrance at Kota.
Satyam Kumar is a resident of Bakhorapur village in Bhojpur district of Bihar. Kumar’s father, Sidhnath Singh, a farmer, is proud of him.
Satyam also holds the record of the youngest to pass CBSE class 12 examination. He passed it last year with 85% marks in PCM.
According to his father, Satyam was intelligent since early childhood.
“He used to impress everyone with his talent even when he was barely five years old.†This is why, the father said, he sent the boy to Kota for higher education.
“The entire village celebrated his success bursting firecrackers and consuming sweets,†Singh said.
