Airports Authority of India is installing modern ATS automation technology at 38 airports. Chairperson of Airport Authority of India V. P. Agarwal inaugurated this system at Jaipur International Airport today. This technology will enable Air Traffic Control Tower to monitor aircrafts in 450 km radius with radar.
It will help in safe landing operation and reduce air time and fuel. Mr Agrwal informed media persons that A new Airport in Jaisalmer will be commissioned in August this year and keeping in view of tourist importance of Ranthambhor Airport Authority of India will examine to construct an airport in Sawai Madhopur also.
He said that Airport Authority and Rajasthan Government will study the fisibility to reactivate 39 air strips in the state.Mr Agarwal said that runway of Jaipur airport will also be expanded upto 11500 feets and CAT-2 lights will be installed on runway.It will help diverted flights from Delhi to land during bad weather.
