Patna: KAUSTUBH NIHAL, a student of Jagdamb College, Chhapra has emerged as the winner Microsoft Office Compudon Season III in India. He would now represent India at “Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship†in August 2013 in Washington DC, USA.
KAUSTUBH NIHAL is among the 6 Champions selected from India by Microsoft. Kastubh was adjudged champion in the Word 2010 Category while another student ANCHAL OJHA from S.R.G.P Higher Secondary school of Saran, was adjudged First Runner up in Excel 2010 Category.
Kaustubh also displayed his talent in both Powerpoint 2010 and Word 2010, but when asked to choose one in the final rounds, he chose Word 2010 and was able to finish the given task in 7.5 Minutes only out of the maximum 12 minutes.
COMPUDON is a platform for students to showcase their mastery in using Microsoft Office applications. Eligible students from all states of India compete for the title of “India Championsâ€, and up to 6 winners represent India at the “Microsoft Office Specialist World Championshipâ€. It is a fully sponsored trip. Only Students between the ages of 13 and 22 can participate in this contest.
Compudon is not organized by Microsoft India or Micorsoft Corp..This event is organized by CyberLearning India.
Last year, COMPUDON Season II witnessed significant increase in number of participants. The India Champions of COMPUDON Season II, the Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 champion – Bipin Kalra- 14 year old student from Maharaja Agrasen Model School, Delhi – won the Bronze Medal whereas India Champion in Microsoft Word 2007, 15 year old, Karanjot Singh, student of Kulachi Hansraj secured 4th position in the worldwide competition in Word 2007. Certiport recognized Bipin Kalra at the Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office Student Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas, and presented him with a Bronze Medal, a Certificate and US Dollars 500 scholarship, while Karanjot Singh was awarded a certificate of participation.
