CM to lay Foundation Stone of Madhepura Medical College and Hospital today

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar would today lay the foundation stone of Madhepura Medical College and Hospital at Madhepura today.

Located at Singheshwar, the College would have an yearly intake of 100 Students for MBBS Courses. The Academic Session is expected to commence from 2014. The Medical College has already received approval from Medical Council of India.

The Campus of the College would be spread across 25 acres of Land and would be developed at a budget of Rs 781.25 Crores.

Additionally, the college hospital would have 500 Beds with an ICU Capacity of 42 beds.

The Hospital would be equipped with all latest medical diagnosis equipments including CAT Scanner and MAgnetic Resonance Imaging Machines.

The Surgery department of Institute would have 9 Modular Operation Theatres. The Institute would be fully residential with mandatory Hostel Facility for its Students.

The State Government also plans to start another Medical College in Betiah, while IGIMS Patna has also started the MBBS Course at its campus. Union health ministry has also sanctioned opening of a regional Para medical institute at Bhagalpur.
