Did Leonardo Da Vinci paint another Mona Lisa ? As per Art Researchers, the answer is yes. Infact the famous Mona Lisa painting is the replica of a younger Mona Lisa which was painted much earlier.
The Younger Painting now known as Isleworth Mona Lisa, unearthed last year, shows a significantly younger subject and is several years older than its more famous counterpart.
Mona Lisa, which has been on display in the Louvre in Paris for three centuries, has long been regarded as the only one painted by the Italian artist.
The Isleworth Mona Lisa is wider than the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, having columns on either side which also appear in some other versions. The Louvre painting merely has the projecting bases of columns on either side, suggesting that the picture was original framed by columns but was trimmed. However, experts who examined the Mona Lisa in 2004–2005 stated that the original painting had not been trimmed.
