Uttarakhand Flood Victims asked to evacuate Camps in favor of Rahul Gandhi

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Flood Victims and the ITBP Personnel were asked to evacuate the Relief Camps in order to provide night shelter to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the disaster affected areas few days back.

This was revealed by the Director General of ITBP, Rahul Chadha. According to Chadha, Rahul Gandhi  was provided night shelter at a camp in Gauchar, only after evacuating the Flood Victims and troopers of ITBP from the camp.

Rahul Gandhi  has been provided with SPG Security and in order to maintain the levels of Security, the entire Camp was cleared of in the hours of tragedy.

The Politics over Disaster Relief has been getting uglier day by day. After the controversial visit by Narendra Modi, in which he rescued over 6000 Gujaratis, the Union Home Ministry prohibited any Political Leader to land in the Flood affected areas.

However, Rahul Gandhi was not only given permission to land in the affected areas, he was provided accommodation in the relief camp. While granting permission to Rahul Gandhi, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde claimed that Rahul Gandhi was visiting the areas as a Common Man, not as a VVIP, but the way camp was evacuated for Rahul Gandhi nullifies such claims.
