Patna: The number of MBBS seats in various Government Medical Colleges in Bihar has been increased to 1000 from the 2013-14 Academic Session.
According to Vyasji, the Principal Secretary to State Health Department, the MCI will sanction 410 new seats  for MBBS this year.  The Government is planning to apply for 210 new seats in 5 Medical Colleges of State which are at least 10 years old. Patna Medical College, Muzaffarpur Medical College, Bhagalpur Medical College and Nalanda Medical College,Patna  would get an increment of 50 seats each, while Darbhanga Medical College would get increment of 10 seats only.
From this session onwards, two new Medical colleges would admit 100 Seats each. This included Vardhaman Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences, Pawapuri Nalanda and Government Medical College Betiah.
