Bihar to introduce Online Payment of Electricity Bills from August

Smartcard or ATM Debit Card Patna:  Come August 10 and the Power Customers in Patna and adjoining areas will have the facility to pay the electric bills online using their debit cards.

As per the proposed plan, the representatives of Bihar State Power Holding company would carry a Point of Sale (POS) device along with them. They can swipe the ATM or Debit Card and debit the bill amount from the customers bank account.

This facility can be availed at the time when representatives visit the houses for meter reading. The debit card of any recognized bank can be used to pay the electricity bill.

The customers will also have the option to pay using Debit/ATM cards at the counters of PESU or  the concerned subsidiary of Bihar State Power Holding Company.

Additionally, Customers can also pay their bills using mobile banking facility of State Bank of India.

This facility is likely to be mooted out in Patna and adjoining areas by August 10 2013 and would be extended to other cities of the State towards the end of the year.
