Gaya:  A Series of 8 Bomb  blasts at 5 AM today inside the Mahabodhi Temple Bodh Gaya premises  has left at least four people injured. No Loss of life or damage to the ancient structure has been reported so far. Two security guards of the temple have also suffered injuries.
The Local Administration has rushed Bomb Disposal Squad on the spot and the area has been sealed. One Bomb was found live and has been defused.
Initial reports suggest that the explosions were caused by crude bombs, which suggests that it was planted by some local disturbing elements, but any involvement of terrorist outfits cannot be denied.
A Team from National Investigation Agency has been rushed to Bodh Gaya from New Delhi. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is likely to pay a visit to the Blast Spot today and meet the victims.
Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) had already issued alert regarding threat to Bodhgaya temple and central forces were deployed for security. The Reports suggested that two terrorists had sneaked into Bihar last month.

On June 25, 2013, the Security at Mahabodhi and Vishnupad Temple was beefed up following Intelligence inputs of Terrorists roaming in Bodh Gaya. A large number of commando and policemen along with one battalion of women constables were deployed. A mock drill was also carried out with bomb squad and dog squad in and around the temple premises. Metal doorframe detectors and the CCTVs installed on the temple premises were also activated for frisking the visitors and their baggage.
