Bihar has started massive anti-naxalite operations and the state will deploy one battalion  of Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the Maoist affected districts of the state. The deployment is likely to be completed by 25th of july.
SSB cops would be posted in at least 5 districts of north Bihar, viz. Sitamarhi, Araria, Vaishali, Saran and Muzaffarpur district.
Additionally, 6 companies of Central Reserve Police Force have been deployed in Jamui and Lakhisarai districts.
These developments have come in the wake of growing incidences of Naxalite operations in the state. Recently they targeted Dhanbad Patna Intercity Express near Jamui killing 5 people.
