Earth System Science Organization of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has launched an Android application which shall predict the weather of all major Tourist and Pilgrimage Sites of India.
Known as Indian Weather, the app is freely available for download at Google Play Store. This is the only official app of  IMD and it provides following information related to the weather.

2.Next Four days Forecast
2.1 Maximum Temperature
2.2 Minimum Temperature
2.3 Wind Direction

 The App requires a minimum Android version 2.2  and occupies 4.4 MB of disk space.   The design of the app has been done in collaboration with IBM India and Dotsys Software. The App is in-house development by team of Scientists at India Meteorological Department.
With this service, ESSO-IMD’s forecasts for major tourist cities of the country for next 4 days along with updated current weather observations are made available to the millions of mobile users across the country.
Additionally, the tourist city forecasts and their updates in particular are made available through designated state government level functionaries, electronic & print media and for general public on ESSO – IMD’s national as well as regional office websites.
Earth System Science Organization (ESSO)-IMD, in coordination with State Governments, is already generating forecasts for major pilgrimages such as Amarnath Yatra, Manasarovar Yatra, Chardham Yatra, Hemkund Sahib, Kumbh mela, etc. and also various mountaineering expeditions launched by Armed Forces for Mount Everest and several other Himalayan mountain ranges for the last few years
 Due to the recent heavy rainfall events and floods over Uttarakhand, continuous efforts are on to generate value added forecast products at different spatial scales (State, District, City etc.) and temporal scales (from few hours to 5 days) for all the regions of the country.
