Hapur (Uttar Pradesh): Hapur DSP Amit Kumar has been been beaten and injured severely by Goons when he went to raid an Illegal Liquor Shop in a nearby Village.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 9:30 AM today (August 21). Acting on a tip off from Excise Department, the DSP Amit Kumar along with several Policemen went to raid an illegal Liquor Shop in a village of Hapur. However things went wrong when goons who had assembled around the liquor shop outnumbered Police forces. In the clash, DSP Amit Kumar received severe blows and went critically injured. He has been admitted to a local hospital.
According to Doctors at the Hospital, Amit Kumar has received 3 sustainable injuries. Police has arrested one person so far in this case.
Hapur is a newly created district of Uttar Pradesh, carved out from Meerut and Ghaziabad. Hapur is infamous for its Liquor Mafia and the illegal trade has been booming for ages.
